Today I whipped up a fun project that’s perfect to do while watching a movie or chatting with a friend! These wooden coasters are ideal for the glamorous gal’s home, a bridal shower, a wedding, or any special occasion in particular!
What you’ll need:
- Wood slice
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Gold and silver glitter
- Paint brush
So let’s get started!
Step 1: Pour out equal portions of the gold and silver glitter. It’s the perfect formula for a gorgeous champagne color that can’t be beat!
Next, mix the glitter together and use the foam tip of the brush to create an even layer that’s wider/taller than your wooden coaster.
Step 2: Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the center of your coaster. Make sure to create an even layer so the mod podge won’t go anywhere else when you press it into the glitter later!
Note: Leave one or two of the outer rings clean of adhesive so when you are done applying the glitter, you can see the wood grain peek through on the edges! It’s lovely and oh so chic!
Step 3: Hold the coaster with the Mod Podge side down and place it (lightly!) into the center of the glitter pile. As you push it in, gently rotate the coaster. Apply pressure evenly so you don’t move the glitter somewhere you don’t want it!
Every few seconds, lift up the coaster to check if you’re satisfied with the look. Once you’re happy with it, tap off the excess glitter and lay it aside to dry!
Step 4: Seal it all in! Once the coaster is dry, add a good bit of Mod Podge to the top and spread it over the entire top of the coaster using the broad tip of the foam brush. Seal all that sparkly goodness in, I tell you! 🙂
Once it dries, voila! Enjoy your champagne glitter coasters! xoxo
