‘Tis the season for pineapples, am I right? I see them every time I turn my head, and I’m not complaining! My husband must be quite the hipster, as he helped me make think up this shoe pattern – not this past month, but last year! What a forward thinker, yeah? And how simple of a craft is this?
What you’ll need:
- Blank sneakers in your size
- Fabric paints
- Black puffy paint
- Scotch Guard
- An image of a pineapple for reference
Step 1: Paint the base! I chose a neon pink foundation to make the pineapples really pop! Remember to take out the shoelaces and tape off the soles so you don’t get paint on them – if that’s the look you’re going for!
Step 2: It’s time to tackle the pineapple design! First, work on the oval shape with yellow fabric paint to create the pineapple body. Then, use the green fabric paint to make a sort of grassy pattern for the crown! Once that’s finished, use the black puffy paint to draw criss-cross lines at a diagonal to add the finishing details!
Step 3: Let the shoes dry for at least 8 hours. Once the puffy paint is dry to the touch, spray the shoes with Scotch Gaurd and weave the shoelaces in. Happy walking!
P.S. Make sure to drop off your e-mail to keep up with more projects in the pipeline! xoxo
